Scrafiito and slump mold

IMG_0344.HEIC

When I was making this, I didn't realize I was doing both projects, but it worked out nicely. This piece was one of my favorites that I have made. Unfortunately, when it was bone dry, it broke, so I never got to clear the glass and take it home, which was a big bummer. You can see me hold the broken piece. I did learn to be extra careful when it is bone dry because they are very fragile. I would like to try again so I can take it home and actually use it as a plate.

I got this done in around 30 minutes because after I finished this, I could get on the wheel, which is why it doesn't look very good. It was really small, which made it much harder for me. I would like to do it again because it was easy and could turn out well. I think it's a great thing if I just want to paint, since it doesn't take long to make.

Coil building

My coil building was not great. I tried before this, and it turned out really bad, so I was already over it, and I admit it is definitely not my best work. If I did it again, I would put more time into it, and it would look much better, but it's nice to know I can do it if I wanted to, even though I probably won't because I don't love this type of building.

I liked doing scrafito so i knew thats what i wanted to do. from the beginning i didnt know what type of scrafito i was going to do all i knew was i wanted was make a candle holder star fish with scrafito. I liked how it turned out until i did the scrafito, after i took this picture i scraped it. But it did teach me that do need some type of plan before i start doing it i think if i did have a plan it would have turned out good.
